Vila Gale Collection Alter Real - Resort Equestre, Conference & Spa

We loved the spacious grounds, with lots of room to wander, and the property itself is really beautiful. There are two pools for adults and a separate one for children. My daughter tried the beginner horseback riding “baptism” with a guide, a 15-20 minute session, and came away thrilled. We didn't get to try the warm-weather activities that seem to be offered, like picnics and falconry exhibits. The rooms and service were lovely, and if you can stay in one of the original suites, do. They're truly special. I'd love to come back.

The estate made a lovely setting for a few relaxing days, with striking natural scenery, horses grazing and excellent indoor and outdoor pool areas. We also had a great tour of the horse farm and falconry. The falconer was so passionate about it that the experience felt special. At the olive oil factory, we learned a lot, and our conversation with the knowledgeable hotel manager was a pleasure. The manager also made us feel very well looked after, surprising our son with a birthday cake. We left Vila Galé Collection Alter Real delighted with the stay and hope to return. I'd recommend it to anyone after a peaceful break with a touch of luxury.

We stayed for a week and were very happy with our time at Vila Galé. The rooms were proper and comfortable, and the facilities were excellent. The place has only recently opened, so I think it has lots of potential to become a wonderful establishment, with just a few things to sort out. Service fell short of what I'd expect from a hotel like this. At breakfast, tables were left dirty and service was slow. Dinner was disappointing too: we waited far too long for a menu, and the food was average and overpriced. Even so, I'd recommend the hotel to friends and family.

The SPA was amazing, with lots of options and a spectacular indoor pool. There are four pools altogether: two outdoor ones for adults, an outdoor kids' pool with slides and an indoor pool. We also loved the restaurants, gardens and pools, and it's a great spot to relax by the water. Our room was nice, with a big comfortable bed, a coffee machine and themed decor. The air conditioning worked really well. One unusual part of the design is that the bathroom area has no door or curtain. There were a lot of flies, though, which we hadn't prepared for. The Alter Real horse breeding facilities next door are impressive, and we understand there are hundreds of horses, but candles or other measures could at least be used in the room.
