A lovely stay in a beautiful Vila, recently renovated but still with that authentic countryside feel. It's a wonderfully quiet spot, a little off the usual tourist route. Definitely recommend it.

Horta da Vila was recommended by several friends, so after a birthday we decided at the last minute to stay in Alvito. We arrived late, but Stéphane was flexible about the timing. Our lovely room opened directly onto the pool. Breakfast was delicious, with mostly local products, including eggs and oranges from the garden. It felt like an oasis in the heat of the Alentejano desert. The hosts were friendly and discreet. Great quality for the price, highly recommended.

The owners were very friendly, and breakfast was really good. Our rooms were spacious and clean, with the essentials and very comfortable beds. We stayed for a long weekend with our large dog and a friend's large dog, and the owners of Horta da Vila immediately told us to make ourselves at home. They have three dogs themselves, so it was no problem at all. This agrotourism place sits just outside Alvito. It's beautiful and well cared for, full of orange trees and magnificent old olive trees whose twisted trunks make you imagine they hold endless stories. There's room to relax and explore, plus a large shared kitchen, a billiards room, board games, and a great pool. We didn't try the pool because it was winter and it rained the whole time. There are lots of villages nearby. Évora is a little over half an hour away, and Beja and Alqueva are very close. We'll have to come back in summer!!!
