Carvoeiro Boutique Apartments

Amarante is well worth visiting, with plenty of great walks nearby. The river ecovia is ace. The apartment is newly developed and gets a lovely balance of comfort and luxury. What a superb place to stay.

The worst part was being asked for 30€ just to bring a set of sheets that had been forgotten for the sofa bed. I was traveling with my daughter, and that bedroom was meant for her. They had already asked for 30€ to prepare the sofa bed and make it up, which I accepted, but 30€ more for some sheets felt like nothing but profit and no care for the customer. There wasn’t even direct contact. I wouldn’t recommend this place to families with children or older guests. The stairs are steep and there’s no elevator. I’ve been to Amarante before and still think it’s wonderful. I won’t stay at this accommodation again, but I’ll return to the city. Note: Booking.com wouldn’t let me post a negative review with my guest identity and advised me to submit it anonymously. That feels like disguised censorship. Disappointing.

A lovely surprise in a beautifully restored historic building right in the city center. There’s no elevator, of course, but if you’re lucky you can park for free; otherwise there are spaces on the adjacent street. The apartment has two bedrooms, a really practical kitchen, and a big comfortable sofa in the living room. The bedroom bed is large and comfortable too. There are two TVs, air conditioning, a great view, and the shower works perfectly. The attention to detail is outstanding.
