We came in early July, and this ended up being the best part of our holiday. The garden is gorgeous, full of greenery that almost feels tropical, and the estate's houses and rooms have all been beautifully renovated and decorated. Karen and David made the place special for us. They’re caring, genuine hosts who welcomed us warmly and were happy to share their Quintas de Ribas Vinho Verde over a relaxed drink at the big stone table. It’s crisp and naturally fizzy, just right for apéro. You can easily use the estate as a base for Guimarães, Braga, and Vila Real, and the Douro Valley is manageable as a day trip. We’re already looking forward to coming back. One last thing, we’d suggest booking directly instead of using sites like Booking and Airbnb.

We felt so welcome thanks to Karen and David, and the gardens are lush and peaceful. The rooms and facilities were lovely and clean. We’ll definitely be back.

A lovely, very quiet place to unwind. It is a bit far from town, restaurants, and other amenities, but it's great for switching off.

We felt right at home and only wished we could have stayed longer. The hosts, Karen and David, were welcoming and attentive, with great suggestions for places to visit and restaurants to try. The garden is beautifully cared for, with palms, banana trees, fruit trees, vines, flowers, bougainvillea, and a lovely lawn. There’s also a small old chapel on the property. The houses are tastefully decorated and have quality amenities, and the pool is a perfect place to relax. Thanks for a wonderful stay, we’ll be back! Bernadette and Pascal
