The central heating was easily the best thing about this house. Beyond that, we found poor cleaning and little care across the property. The Booking listing says there are six bedrooms, but what they call the sixth, shown with a ping-pong table, doesn't really count as one. There was a leak dripping from the ceiling in one bedroom. Pillows were stained, the sheets, blankets, and duvets seemed uncared for, and the old beds creaked. Much of the furniture was damaged or stained, including a wobbly chair and worn mirrors. The bathrooms are dated and moldy. Three have no water protection, so every shower leaves a slippery, potentially dangerous floor, and the old towels were even torn. Some dining room curtains wouldn't open properly, or at all. The kitchen looks large but is too narrow for three people to cook at once. It was missing decent knives, had a broken chopping board, no toaster, blender, or hand blender, no kitchen cloths, too few teacups and mugs, and very few pans. The frying pans smelled so bad whenever anyone used one that someone would ask what the smell was. The living room also didn't have the couches shown in the Booking photos. The stairs are unusually steep and tall, so children could be at risk and adults need to watch their step. The billiard table in the games room is uneven, making a proper game impossible, and the gym equipment looks abandoned and untrustworthy. Cleaning was what bothered us most, so we washed everything before using it. We didn't plan to use the pool in winter, with temperatures around 1 to 11 degrees, but the water was very green anyway. We received no briefing about anything, including how to work the heating or that the water comes from a well, which is important to know. We had to figure out where the electrical panel was ourselves because the power kept going out. For the price, it wasn't worth it. I don't recommend it.
