We only stopped here because the mechanic across the street had us waiting while our car was being fixed. The food was a very pleasant surprise, really tasty.

The staff were all so friendly, and the Bacalhau à Sampaio was spectacular. At 25 euros for a portion for two, the quality for the price is hard to beat. I honestly think this is a hidden gem near the center of Amarante. Reviews about the accommodation might make the restaurant seem worse than it really is. Definitely worth trying.

I'm reviewing the restaurant here. The place is clean and pleasant, with that feel of a typical Portuguese spot, and everyone working there was very friendly. The Bacalhau à Sampaio was amazing, and the 25 euro portion serves two. Well worth it.

The bacalhau is consistently excellent, and the staff are always welcoming. We've come back several times and plan to keep doing so.
