Hotel Casa Do Eirado

The rooms are spacious, and the restaurant staff were excellent. But during a festival, music blares right outside the windows at full volume, so there’s no way to sleep. In our room, the air conditioning didn’t work, and neither did the overhead shower. The water was too hot. The owners refunded the room with the broken air conditioning. It’s a good place to stay in quieter periods, and could be good if the room issues were improved and properly attended to.

Really good.

I normally choose this hotel because it’s close to the places I need to be, but this visit left me with a lot of complaints. We had to let the taps run for over 20 minutes just to get a lukewarm shower. When I told the staff, they called me a liar. Two other guests overheard and said the same thing was happening in their rooms, but the staff member still denied it. So we wasted water and only managed a half-shower. Breakfast was hard to describe. There wasn’t hot chocolate for my children or hot milk, and it took more than 15 minutes for the milk to arrive. Even to order anything, you have to search the whole hotel for someone. The staff were also demanding and rather cold, though they made some effort to make up for it later, so I’ll leave it there. A lot to be desired.

There were lots of ants in the dining room, and breakfast was practically nothing.
