A fantastic view, complete amenities, and a nice host made this an exceptional holiday home.

We had three wonderful weeks in this lovely little house, and we’ll definitely book it again on our next trip to Madeira. It really deserves five stars, and I’d give it six if that were possible. The view is breathtaking, with a magnificent panorama from sunrise to sunset. There are two terraces, and the lower one can’t be seen from outside, so it feels peaceful and private. Alberto, the landlord, was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and attentive. Communication was always positive, and he regularly checked whether we needed anything. Check-in and checkout were completely straightforward. The house is exactly as described and has everything you need for daily life, including towels and bath sheets. Self-catering is easy. The beds are comfortable, the wardrobes are big enough, and there’s plenty of space. Our son and his partner joined us for a week, and the second bedroom with its own bathroom suited them perfectly. You definitely need a car. The drive is a little adventurous the first time, but you get used to the steep roads. Take the new road: at the roundabout in Arco da Calheta, turn right at the first exit. Google Maps points left toward Hotel/Ginásio, so don’t go that way. Parking is right beside the house. The duplex house has been renovated beautifully, with excellent amenities and a magnificent view. The host was very friendly and attentive.
