Hotel Apartamento Algar

The people here are very friendly and happy to help. We stayed in a two-room apartment with a fine bed, air conditioning, and a balcony with a sea view. There’s also a pool on the rooftop.

We’ve stayed here four years in a row and have always been really happy. The staff are so nice and helpful, and always greet you with a smile.

The location is good, right across from the beach and in the main town, and the reception staff are all very friendly. But we found ants in the room as soon as we arrived. When we told reception, they asked, “In the kitchen area?” which made it sound like a common problem. The cleaner left us ant spray to use throughout the week. The rooftop pool wasn’t open, and there were no chairs or loungers up there to enjoy the sun. You can hear absolutely everything outside your room and on the floors above, so don’t book here if you want to sleep in. There’s just one lift, and it’s the slowest I’ve ever come across. I wouldn’t return because of the ants, the noise, and the pool being closed.

The hotel looks beautiful, and the staff were really helpful. The rooms are lovely, though the kitchenette areas could do with an update; otherwise, they’re perfect. The rooftop terrace has a pool and sun loungers, with views across the whole resort. There’s a nice English breakfast and great coffee in the restaurant, where you can sit outside. Even Lidl is just around the corner for supplies. The location couldn’t be better, right on the seafront overlooking the beach.
