The rooms and bathrooms are exceptionally spacious, and the restaurant serves refined Portuguese food with a modern twist alongside an excellent wine list. The hotel is in the heart of the city but still wonderfully peaceful, with free private parking. The building is beautiful, combining historic character with modern elegance, and you can feel its history in the walls. The gardens are beautifully kept and invite a quiet stroll. Staff are genuinely kind and welcoming, with thoughtful service throughout. They brought small cakes to the room, offered complimentary water for our journey at checkout, and even offered to prepare the room for the night. The SPA is magnificent, intimate, calming and beautifully designed. Complimentary bathing caps were a rare and much appreciated touch. A luxurious, serene and cosy escape, and an address we'll be very happy to return to.

The little things are worth mentioning: junior pool staff are still learning, though they're charming, and gin at €14-€18 is a bit pricey compared with other food and drink. Even so, it’s excellent value for money. The hotel feels five-star, with a superb breakfast and an excellent restaurant. Stylish, serene and in a great location, everything runs like clockwork. So peaceful and relaxing, I loved it all. One of the best hotels I've stayed at. Highly recommended.

Some might find it a bit far from anywhere, but I think that’s part of the point: this is a place to get away and relax. The outside pool is wonderful in the right weather, big enough for a proper swim while still letting you stand in the deep end. The poolside bar staff were friendly, with drinks and food available. The indoor pool and sauna are great and finished to a very high standard. The renovation was also done to a very high standard, incorporating much of the old monastery. Make sure to visit the connected monastery museum to see the building before and after. Staff were genuinely friendly on arrival, at breakfast and whenever else we needed them. I really couldn't fault the hotel or its staff. It had only opened a few months earlier, in April 2025, and was still a Hidden Gem. I'd certainly recommend it and return.

The restaurant was great, and the prices felt reasonable. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and the hotel itself was beautiful, with a lovely garden and swimming pool. Simply amazing!
