The apartment was a bit worn around the edges, though it's near the center, and otherwise things were so-so. The heavy perfume made us wonder if it was covering another smell. There was no canal view as advertised, and the boat horns we could hear were kind of annoying. We had to transfer 50 EUR to their bank account and still haven't got it back. If we'd known about the deposit, we would have cancelled and picked somewhere better, but the booking couldn't be cancelled.

They ask you to send the deposit by bank transfer, with no credit card protection. After your stay, they either make up damage to keep the money or pressure you to leave a good review before returning it. How is this kind of tourism still allowed in Europe? 😩 If this has happened to you, I encourage you to report the place to your booking platform and the city of Aveiro.

Please don't book here. They ask for a €50 deposit before handing over the room keys, which already felt sketchy, and we never met the hosts. We booked through Booking.com, and apparently you need to leave a good review to get your deposit back. After we posted ours, we got an email claiming we'd damaged something. In our case, she accused our dog of leaving lots of stains on the blanket, but he sleeps on the floor. We hope the deposit will be returned, but from the reviews here, sadly we aren't the first to have this happen.

SCAM ALERT! They demand extra cash before letting you into the place, then invent reasons to keep it instead of paying it back. Other people here have described the same thing. We've started a court case against this horrible company and reported it to the police and consumer protection agency. Things like this shouldn't be allowed on respectable rental portals, and I'll do my part to help make that happen. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The location is very central, and at first it seemed like a friendly, good-value place. The host didn't meet us at check-in, then later claimed we'd caused damage in the apartment.
