Belmonte has plenty to explore, including the surrounding countryside. Just keep in mind that in Portugal most places shut from 13:00 to 14:30, apart from cafés and restaurants. The accommodation fits 3 and has a well-equipped kitchen plus a small private patio. It's right in the centre, with free parking nearby. The owner was very helpful, and having a key box made both arrival and departure easy.

The location is a big advantage, with all the sights reachable on foot. The house was lovely and had everything we needed, with good beds and everything in order. Heating was excellent: there was A.C, another electric heater, and a fireplace. The host pays attention to the small things to make the stay enjoyable. I definitely recommend it.

It was cozy and pleasant apart from two issues. The hot water tank is small, so there isn't enough hot water for a comfortable shower, and the next person has to wait for it to heat up again, which takes a while. Also, the church is right across from the door, and from early in the morning the bell seems to ring inside your head.

A comfortable, clean place with just the right amount of space and a great location. The town has lots to see, and there are hiking trails and Roman ruins nearby.

Mr. Paulo was extremely kind, and having our 4 dogs stay with us was no problem at all. Recommended if you're looking for a pet-friendly place!
