Pb4 House

It's cheap and in a nice location, but hygiene was poor. There was a used bandage in our blanket, and our room didn't even have a chair.

We got there at 15:37 on 29/10/21, in heavy rain, but nobody was there to open the door. We kept calling without getting an answer. Booking tried to contact the people in charge too, but couldn't reach anyone. I also tried the number on one of the room balconies, which said rooms for rent, but got nowhere. The Booking phone number led to a restaurant on Google, and the number there was different. Around 17:35 we finally reached someone, who sent an SMS with a code for a lockbox. The key was inside. We'd been out in the rain for two hours. Once inside, things still weren't good. A room for two had just one towel, there was no soap or shower gel, and the room smelled strongly of mold. Around 01:40, we were going to bed when another couple with the same problem started knocking, trying to get someone to let them in. Somehow they got inside without knowing which room was theirs and knocked on our door to ask. An argument with another guest followed, and the confusion only stopped around 03:25. Sadly, it was a very upsetting stay and the people responsible showed no respect. I can't recommend this hostel to anyone.

I was left outside for an hour because the key they gave me wouldn't open the front door. I rang and knocked several times, then called, but nobody answered any of it. I asked the property for a refund, since cancelling costs money, but they wouldn't agree. The receptionist said she'd been there until 9 pm, which doesn't make sense to me when someone was ringing and knocking and no one opened up. I lost €47 and had to sleep somewhere else. Be very careful with this hostel.

There are cafes, restaurants and supermarkets around, and the place is within 1.5km of the historic area for anyone happy to walk. It's a friendly spot and the price is quite good for a few nights. The shared facilities include a kitchen area with equipment, a lounge and an outdoor smoking area. Bathrooms are small, shared by gender, and there's one per floor. It was clean enough, though our towels weren't changed during the three days.
