The breakfasts were delicious, with a nice selection laid out to start the day. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the old barn has been turned into lovely rooms with the amenities you need. The hosts were so kind. We’d definitely return and recommend it.

The rooms at the Quinta are modern, new, spacious, and nicely decorated, and the facilities are excellent. The family looked after me with lots of care, food, and drinks. Breakfast was the best I had on my whole trip in Portugal. I happened to be there during the countrywide power outages, and felt like one of the luckiest tourists that day. It was such a quiet escape, with beautiful views and complete peace away from all the worries and noise. I also had some thoughtful, meaningful conversations with one of the hosts. Sharing cultures, listening to how local people think and live, and realizing that despite our different backgrounds we’re all people on the same planet felt especially comforting in such a divided world. I only wish I’d stayed longer. I highly recommend this place to travellers.

The two things that really made our stay were the hosts and breakfast. Each morning the food was freshly made, with Portuguese favourites and plenty of produce from their garden. It was so delicious, and there was always more than enough. The family were incredibly welcoming, especially with our daughter. They showed her the ducks, geese, and sheep and, when we had to leave early on our last day, even gave her a blanket and a present. We couldn’t have asked for kinder people to look after us, and we’ll definitely return. My wife, our 18 month old daughter, and I had an incredible time at Quinta de Chousas. From the moment we arrived, our hosts did all they could to make the stay enjoyable. They welcomed us with wine and nibbles on the terrace, then gave us great suggestions for meals, places to see, and activities suited to our daughter. The Quinta has been renovated to a lovely standard, with beautiful rooms, a gorgeous pool and terrace area, and fantastic amenities.

The hospitality was the best I’ve experienced. The whole family really cares about their guests having a good stay, and you can tell this is personal for them. Their family has owned and farmed the property for generations, and it feels more like a passion than a business. Everything is spotlessly clean and maintained to a standard that would put 5* hotels to shame. The place is amazingly peaceful, and I felt relaxed as soon as I arrived. There’s free parking, a clean pool, air conditioned rooms, and well equipped shared spaces inside and out. I’d leave the air conditioning off and open a window, the cicadas, babbling stream, and early morning birdsong are much nicer. Nothing felt missing. 10/10 all round. If you’re nearby, it’s a must stay, and I’d even go out of my way to visit. You’ll be supporting a local business and some lovely people.
