The village is very quiet, and the house has everything for a stay of some length: two bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, and a living room. It was well insulated for sound and the climate control worked well. There's a little playground nearby, and Bragança, Spain, and Montesinho Park are all just a short distance away. Sr. Fernando was a wonderful host and local guide. He pointed us to the best restaurants and walks in the area, and even gave us eggs from his own hens. We also learned that he's a well-regarded writer, and the house has a great library.

The village is peaceful, with no crowds. That's about the only good thing I can say. The house was freezing when we arrived at 10 pm on a December night. The heat pump in one of the two bedrooms didn't work, and the whole place was VERY cold. The beds were really uncomfortable, too. Worst of all was how dirty everything was. There was hair on the sheets, dust marks on the furniture and headboards, stains on the kitchen lights, and dead flies on the walls. Every corner seemed filthy. I'm sorry, but in this condition the house isn't fit to rent.

Mr. Fernando was very kind and attentive throughout. The area is lovely and peaceful, very rural. The house itself is spacious and attractive, with two bathrooms, good air conditioning, and nice decor. It does need a proper clean, though, and there aren't enough kitchen utensils or a barbecue. ♥️

The house was handed over in a disgraceful state, with no cleaning at all. Mr. Fernando, you need to put some effort into cleaning and adding a few comforts. This was an experience I won't repeat.
