The steep hill at the entrance caught us by surprise on our first drive, though it was easy enough after that. The setting is part of what makes Socalco Nature Calheta so special: private, beautiful views, and minimalist decor that sits naturally in its surroundings. We spent part of our 10-year wedding anniversary here, and the whole stay felt personal. It was almost like being welcomed into a friend's lovely home. The staff were kind, professional, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Our room was comfortable, thoughtfully designed, and had everything we needed. The food was fresh, full of flavor, and carefully prepared, with great choices that made each meal memorable. We can't think of anything that needed improving, and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Madeira.

Breakfast was served at the table, with fresh, healthy food that made a lovely start to the day. The rooms were very clean, and their simple style, like the rest of the hotel, felt closely connected to nature. We were warmly welcomed and pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a villa. The place feels like a little paradise above Calheta, with striking views across the sea and cliffs and vineyards all around. The decor is simple but elegant, and the light gives everything a charming, pastoral feel. A truly restful stay.

The restaurant "Razāo" serves fresh local food, with high-end cooking at affordable prices. It’s a lovely quiet hideaway of a hotel above the ocean. The staff are friendly and also very helpful with arrangements and planning outdoor activities.

We visited in December, during the off season, and the quiet made the stay unforgettable. The food was a delight from breakfast through dinner, a 10 out of 10, and the staff were so welcoming that we felt at home. Set high on a hill among vineyards, the place is close to nature and has beautiful terraces and views. The contemporary art museum is just below. We loved our stay and really appreciate all the care put into this place.

The breakfast overlooking the sea was the best hotel breakfast I’ve had. Everything came fresh from the farm, and the selection changed a little each day. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the place was peaceful and quiet. The rooms feel luxurious, and the setting is stunning, tucked into a farm on Calheta’s cliffs with views of the sea.
