Definitely a place to visit on Madeira. It's very famous for the vides art, a traditional art form from the island.

A pleasant little cafe right on the village's central square. It has casual outdoor seating, good espresso, reasonable prices, and good service. The village is a popular tourist stop known for coarse baskets and furniture, along with souvenirs and local products.

There's a shop selling items handmade in the workshop, which you can visit downstairs. There's also a snack bar and a restaurant if you want them. It's a good place to see, but I'd fit it into a trip around the island rather than make a separate visit for it.
