Fatima picked us up at the lower cable car station for the guided tour, and the ride ticket down and back up was included. Her knowledge of and love for Fajã dos Padres came through in the way she led it. We heard about the area's history, why it's called "Fajã dos Padres", the famous wine, and local plants and fruit, which we got to taste. It was a fantastic experience, and we'd really recommend the tour. Afterward we swam; the changing rooms and toilets are beside the restaurant. Parking at the top was easy, along the street. A fantastic end to our 11-day trip around Madeira. Thank you, Fatima!

At 12€ per person, the price feels steep for what you get: one walkway through the plantation to the restaurant. Maybe it's worthwhile if you're planning to spend the day at the beach. From above it looks like there are great paths through the plantation, but the other walkways are closed to the public unless you pay for a guided tour. There are better value cable cars elsewhere on the island.

This cable car takes you down to the beach area and banana plantation, and it's a lovely place to spend some time, especially with kids. There's a nice cafe on the beach, so yes, worth a visit. Just be aware there are few parking spaces near the cable cars. We couldn't park on the road.

I’m only reviewing the cable car. The €14 round trip takes you to a place where walking around is forbidden unless you’re a guest. You can go along a short path to the beach and back, but the beach is mediocre at best. A complete waste of time and money.

We didn’t stay at the hotel, just took the cable car down. It was a short, lovely ride to a banana farm, beach, and restaurant. The area surprised us with how quiet and charming it was. We had a lovely coffee, 10/10.
