Muralha de Caminha

The pepper steak was so tough I couldn't eat it, even after I asked for a better knife. We told the staff, but they still charged us €9 for a dish we'd barely touched. The bacalhau com natas was enjoyable, but lunch was a disappointment.

We were a table of ten. The food was average and portions were generous enough that half portions could have fed two people. They could have warned us about the size. Prices seemed reasonable, though they appeared to have separate lunch and dinner menus, and we may have been given the lunch menu at dinner. There was also an error on the bill; when I pointed it out, they amicably made the reduction.

We especially loved the fresh seafood at Restaurante Muralha de Caminha, and I'd recommend it. The food was plentiful and very tasty, the service quick and friendly, and the traditional Portuguese restaurant atmosphere felt just right. There are plenty of parking spots nearby, and the water is right in front with a lovely view. A great place for a meal, highly recommended.

Our soup arrived cold, and the local green wine we wanted never came. When we asked whether we could taste one, the waitress laughed at the request, then left us thinking she would bring some wine. Later she said there was none to taste. She could have recommended one and brought it, but didn't. We had to ask again for wine. A bad experience.
