Quinta do Socalco

The place is a great choice if you want to get away from routine and rest. There's plenty of space for fun and downtime, including for families with children. The facilities are fairly recent, clean, tidy and well organised. João and Rosário were outstanding hosts, friendly and thoughtful, and always ready to help make the stay a good one. I'd happily recommend it and will definitely be back soon.

We visited Quinta do Socalco in Caminha and loved it. Being surrounded by nature felt like a real retreat, peaceful and restorative. It was nearly mid-October, but the weather was amazing and we managed to swim in the pool. It's pet-friendly and very quiet, just right for relaxing and recharging. Our hosts were really welcoming and friendly, and the homemade breakfast was delicious, from the fresh orange juice to the traditional bread. Nothing negative to point out. I'd definitely return!

We spent an autumn weekend here with friends. It's a lovely, comfortable and very peaceful place, and a very friendly couple welcomed us and did their best to make the stay memorable. We'd come back. Thank you, Rosário & João Pedro.

The bungalow was spotless when we arrived, and they'd already turned on the air conditioning. On a very hot day, it was lovely to walk into a cool, comfortable place that felt like home for the next few days. There was another bed as well as ours, and even though it was just the two of us, it could easily fit another couple. I took a nap on that bed and woke up to all the green outside. The views of the forest, river and neighbouring Spain were breathtaking. The location also gave us plenty to do, from nature walks and river beaches to the town centre, Moledo beach and Camarido. The pool was incredibly clean and clear, and we noticed how carefully they looked after the whole space, even watering the grounds in the morning and again in the evening. Rosário and João made us feel like friends coming into their home, always ready to help with a smile. Olaf and Chica, two sweet, gentle dogs, brought an extra bit of joy. This really felt like a refuge full of happiness, freedom and connection with nature. We left with full hearts and the feeling we'd had some unique days. It's more than a place to stay, and we'll certainly return.
