The balcony at O Castelo was hard to leave. We loved sitting there with a drink before dinner, watching the beach activity and sunlight on the cliffs. We could open the door to the sound of the waves, yet heard nothing else. The spotless room was wonderful, the bed was so comfortable, and the huge balcony felt like a real treat. Having a delicious picnic breakfast delivered to the door to eat outside was sheer bliss. There’s also a lending library downstairs. Katia and Augustine were terrific hosts, always pleasant and smiling, with great dinner suggestions and help arranging transportation. They’re a big reason guests keep coming back. Thanks for such a lovely introduction to the Algarve. We’ll return!

Breakfast on the balcony each morning was unforgettable, and the balcony was a real highlight. The place is wonderfully central, with the beach a two-minute walk away and countless restaurants nearby. Despite all that, the rooms were quiet, spotless, and very comfortable. The staff were warm, professional, and accommodating throughout. I had a wonderful stay and would gladly come back. Highly recommend for a comfortable, relaxing stay with everything close by.

The staff were wonderful, always pleasant and helpful, and I recommend having breakfast on the balcony. It’s a good breakfast in a stunning spot. The hotel sits on a bluff, and the sliding glass doors open onto a balcony overlooking the ocean and the shore below. I believe every room faces the ocean. Of all the lovely hotels we stayed at in Portugal, this was the best. It’s peaceful, just a couple of minutes’ walk from the beach and plenty of fine dining. When we return to Portugal, we’ll make a stop here.

A small hotel, but it has everything you need. The room was enormous, with an incredible ocean view. The breakfast was worth ordering for the basket delivery and setup, even in rain or shine, indoors or out. Loved it.

We stayed in Room 6, which had a double terrace and sun all day. Breakfast on the balcony was first class, with stunning views, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. A great guest house for couples wanting to get away from it all. Highly recommend.
