We had a good-sized room for the two of us, including a safe, though I wasn’t keen on the two single beds pushed together. Since we went in November, some places were closed, as expected, but there was still plenty open. The restaurants were nice and the on-site shop was well stocked. The small outdoor pool is supposedly heated. It was warmer than the toddler pool, but still really cold. I imagine the pool could get very crowded in summer.

We spent a week here with the family at the end of May and felt relaxed the whole time. The local cats were chilled and friendly too. There are a few restaurants and an indoor local supermarket with a good variety, so we never needed to go elsewhere. Staff were polite, friendly and accommodating, and we had no problems. Everything was clean, fresh and working.

Getting to places nearby was easy from here. There are lovely beaches and plenty of walks along the cliff sides. A great place to stay.

We hired a car to get around. Without one, I think it would have been difficult to visit more places nearby.

There are little coves and shops to explore, and the place is lovely. For sunshine, April onward is the best time to come. The design shopping place is 39 minutes away, with other shops like Mango, Zara and H & M, plus plenty of places to eat, including Indian and Italian options and English bars. There’s only one place nearby to exchange money, and the rate isn’t good, so I’d do that at home. Faro is an hour away by car, and Villamora marine takes 45 minutes.
