Montinho Boutique B&B

We spent six days at Montinho and kept finding pleasant surprises. A short walk through the countryside brought us to beautiful beaches, restaurants, and views, and we couldn’t find anything to fault during the stay. On our first evening, we ate at a fantastic restaurant about ten minutes away. Back at Montinho, we had the courtesy bottle of wine on the terrace under a night sky with no light pollution. I highly recommend staying here. To me, it’s one of the best ways to enjoy the region’s special sense of calm.

Saskia and Rene were lovely hosts, serving a delicious, varied breakfast each morning and offering recommendations for restaurants and things to do. They even lent us their body boards for the swim out to the Benagil cave. The honesty bar was well stocked, too. Montinho was a wonderful place for a relaxing Algarve break. The B&B has a lovely deck and a great pool, which we had to ourselves. With only three rooms, there can be up to six adults staying at a time. Our room was spacious and well equipped, and the location put us close to great beaches and restaurants. We were sad to leave.

Rene was helpful with ideas for what to do and could assist with reservations if needed. Our room was kept clean, and breakfast changed every morning. The B&B itself is picturesque, peaceful, and delightful, with friendly owners and their two dogs, Max & Pippa. It’s also a short drive from the many beaches around Benagil.

A stylish, comfortable place for couples, with a lovely pool and plenty of privacy in a peaceful area. The best beaches are only a short ride away. One of the best places to stay in the Algarve.
