Pedra Mansa Nr 9

We had a really relaxed stay in this quiet area on the outskirts of Carveiro, which didn’t feel remote. Gary & Tosca were warm, welcoming, and helpful, and the apartment was spacious and well equipped. We needed the air conditioning at night, and ours had it.

The pool was the perfect way to cool off after a very hot summer day, though I have to admit I enjoyed staying in the villa even more than going to the beach. Pedra Mansa is a little paradise, with welcoming, comfortable houses and shady green gardens. Cristina looks after both the villas and her guests so thoughtfully that you feel at home. We'd happily come back.

We booked the apartment at the last minute after a few days on Portugal's rugged west coast, and Cristina made us feel welcome from the start. She and her team keep the Pedra Mensa property in great shape, so it immediately feels like a holiday. With only 8 apartments in the small private resort, it's peaceful, and there was always plenty of space by the lovely pool. Our recently refurbished apartment was stylish but still felt homely, like something from an interiors magazine. Carvoerio has plenty of cafes and bars, as well as an award-winning beach that can get busy. Having a car is useful for exploring the other beautiful beaches nearby. Our family of four had a great stay and would recommend it to anyone wanting a carefree break on Portugal's south coast.
