We booked at the last minute after our flight was cancelled. The rooms were lovely, and ours had a huge balcony with comfortable outdoor chairs. Breakfast had plenty of choices, some changing daily, and a great view. The coffee from the Nespresso machine was consistently very good, and the landscaping was attractive. Staff were helpful, parking was free, and the pool and room towels were nice. The pools were pleasant, with a spacious adults-only one away from the main pool; the furniture was comfy. There's also an indoor pool with button-triggered water effects, plus a sauna, steam room, and a gym that's better than the average hotel gym. Pool bar food tasted good, but was expensive. Getting around was confusing, with lots of paths ending at locked doors, so more signs would help. There was no shower or convenient toilet by the outdoor pools. The room bathroom wasn't very private: the sink was open to the room, while the shower and toilet were in tiny spaces behind glass doors, and there was some leakage. It looked good when clean. There weren't beach chairs for guests to use, so you'd need to bring your own or rent them from a beach club. There was no clear beach access route, though a trail just outside the hotel fence may lead to vale de centianes, and its gate can be opened. The indoor pool also closes early.

Breakfast was a highlight, with a good selection and a menu that changed each morning. The fruit juices were very good, not watered down like at some other hotels, and the Nespresso machine made a consistently good cup of coffee. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and has beautiful ocean views. Staff were friendly and very helpful when issues came up during our stay. We were impressed by the cleanliness, facilities, and service. Highly recommended for a stay in the Algarve!

This is a beautiful property with lots of potential, but the experience could be smoother for families. For early risers and people heading to the gym, a little corner with water or fruit at 6 AM would be useful. A small toy area for kids on the terrace and an open door onto the walking trail would also improve the setup. It would help if the kids' pool were heated, and if the spa stayed open past 7 PM, ideally until after 8 so parents could use it. Reception couldn't book spa treatments for me and asked me to come down at 10 AM the next day to arrange one myself. The website also doesn't allow a booking for a family of four. Even though the room had enough space, reception wouldn't allow a baby crib because of strict internal rules. I'm leaving five stars because the hotel has great potential and our stay had some excellent moments. I hope management makes these changes to bring the guest experience up to a seamless luxury standard.

Wyndham Grand Carvoeiro had only been open for a month when we stayed. Our room was very clean, and the staff were kind and helpful. Several beaches are very close by.
