Family-friendly.

The shared spaces are lovely, and having a pool is a real plus. The owner was friendly, though he splits his time between this place and a nearby B&B. Guests can use the kitchen and have any of the provided food and drinks at the listed price. Our room was spacious, with its own bathroom, as did the other three rooms. Still, the room was not very convincing, especially the bathroom, with old fixtures and leaky taps. Cleanliness overall was disappointing. Breakfast was complete but could have offered more: apart from bread and milk, it was all packaged, with nothing fresh. We paid around €100 per room per night at the end of September, and this rating reflects that cost as well as the distance to the town center and beaches. The small villa is in a residential part of Cascais, about 2 km from the center.

Margarita gave us a lovely welcome. She’s friendly and helpful, and shared ideas for places to visit, while still giving us room to feel at home. We stayed three nights as a couple. The house is about a 25-minute walk from central Cascais, so we could wander in and still be away from the noise. Our bedroom and bathroom were clean, though neither was especially large. There was also a terrace and air conditioning. The shared areas were roomy and well kept, and the pool loungers were comfortable for an afternoon relaxing. Breakfast was tasty, even if it wasn’t a hotel buffet. A good choice for a few quiet days as a couple or family. We’d definitely come back.

The hosts were friendly and breakfast was good. My room was clean and had air conditioning, plus a safe that wasn’t very large. There’s also a small pool to cool off in. I was only there for one night, but I’d gladly return anytime.
