The cottage looked okay when we were shown it, but after rain on Saturday the long walkway to it was muddy, and I couldn't stay there. This was meant to be the last three nights of our beautiful annual trip to Portugal, a tradition my wife and I have kept for 50 years. We were travelling with our 2-year-old and three adults aged 75, 71, and 41. I'd paid in advance for the three-night stay, then had to find and pay again for two rooms at the beautiful Pestana Citadel Pousada in Cascais. I contacted American Express, which I had used to pay. At first the management seemed to understand and said they might offer us some credit, but now they have decided to do nothing. My advice is to check the weather before booking. The place really isn't what it looks like in the advertisement pictures.

The staff were genuinely warm and attentive, and our apartment was cozy, well equipped, and had everything we needed. Quinta da Bicuda itself is beautiful, peaceful, quiet, and impeccably maintained. It's only a 5-6 minute drive from the centre of Cascais, so it was easy to get around while still enjoying a calm, natural setting. We loved our stay and will definitely come back next time we're in Cascais.

I spent two months over the winter in a single room with a kitchen, and found it comfortable and clean. The staff were top-notch. There's free parking on the property, and the gate is locked at night. A car is handy for getting around, though the beach and golf courses are close. The farm has plenty to enjoy, including a gym, yoga, horseback riding, bicycles, a food truck, and a pool. Victor, the personal trainer on site, is excellent. I highly recommend staying here.

Our cottage-style room was clean and cozy, with its own kitchen and all the amenities we needed. We enjoyed romantic dinners in the courtyard. There was also lots of greenery around the property.

Joana and her team were so friendly and did their best to make sure everything suited us. We spent a week in the two-bedroom villa while moving house, and it was very comfortable. The gardens, food truck, and gym were much appreciated. It's incredibly pet-friendly, and our dog was happy with all the walks in the area. Highly recommended.
