The beds were the best part, really comfortable, and the bedding was spotless. The bathroom was also very clean, with plenty of towels, toiletries from other hotel units, a towel warmer, and hot water. They even left water and coffee, and the management was fully available. We stayed at "3 Marias da Fonte" at Largo da Fonte da Borrega, 5, though I couldn't find that house and only found another one that I understood belonged to the same owner. The house makes good use of its space and feels welcoming, but there are lots of stairs. The living room and kitchen are combined and well stocked with dishes, cutlery, and glasses. There are small appliances, a stove, oven, fridge, sofas, lots of lamps, TV, video and DVD, a baby high chair, and an oil heater for the main room. The decor felt mixed to me, neither clearly old-fashioned nor modern. There are three bedrooms. One has no window, and the other two are upstairs with skylights. The beds in all of them were comfortable, with chests of drawers, hangers or clothes racks, enough bed linen, extra blankets, and a cot. The bathroom is small but very functional. The main drawbacks were the cleaning and heating. The oven was filthy, there was quite a bit of dust around the house, and we had to wash a lot of the dishes. The upstairs rooms share an AC unit through an opening in the wall, which seemed to do nothing except use electricity. There was also no Wi-Fi. I found printed forms from guests who had stayed there months earlier, still containing their personal details.

At 3 marias da fonte o N5, the beds and linens were wonderfully clean, and the place was quiet with parking right outside. For a longer stay, though, a washing machine would be useful. The two upstairs bedrooms share an AC unit. The price asked feels fair.

It’s a rustic house with nice taste, but it has a lot of shortcomings. There wasn’t even toilet paper, and other toiletries weren’t properly provided either. The house wasn’t comfortable, with noisy electric heaters, and there was no Wi-Fi, which matters since there’s no mobile signal inside. Worst was the final night, when the owner rented the upstairs floor to hunters. The divider between the floors is wooden and creaks everywhere, so sleep was pretty hit or miss. In short, don’t rent this house.
