Rio Moment's

The location is great, the hotel is perfect, and the staff are extremely friendly. Ana and Susanna deserve another compliment. Our flight was delayed, so instead of arriving by car between 10:30 PM and 11:00 PM, we got there at 01:30 AM. The drive from the airport was easy, especially the first 40 km. After that the regional roads wind, but are still easy to drive. The final 3 km on the EM503 in the dark are another story. Without navigation, you might think about turning back, and when you pass the small church, you do wonder where you’ll end up. Then, after bend after bend, there it is. Ana was patiently waiting despite the late hour and took plenty of time to welcome us, help unload, and get us settled. Compliments to her. In daylight you can really enjoy the surroundings and, when the weather is nice, have breakfast on the balcony. The winding little roads look different too. We had room 00 with its own terrace and mostly perfect weather. In the last couple of days, distant wildfires blocked the sunshine and we could smell them somewhat. One thing to consider: the sloping, uneven roads and paths make this location less suitable for people with walking difficulties.

The dinners were delicious, and the staff were warm, kind, and attentive. Set in peaceful surroundings away from the city, Rio Moments feels like a lovely place to unwind. The architecture is beautiful too, and the pool was amazing. A quiet, serene retreat if you’re looking to rest and recharge.

The little river and beach are an easy walk along a trail, and the pool area is so peaceful. Rio Moment's is beautifully designed, with lovely rooms, and Ana and Susanna made us feel especially welcome with their kindness and great service. It’s tucked away down narrow roads that can be daunting after dark, but breakfast is included and the four-course dinner with wine is very affordable. We also loved crossing the gorge on the world’s second longest pedestrian suspension bridge, high above the river. My husband and I had the best stay, and hope to return. You’ll be glad you stayed here.

You can hear Rio Paiva from the room, and the garden is lush and lovely. Getting down the road takes some getting used to, but the hotel is a real oasis of calm, with such nice staff. One of our best stays ever.
