The old station at Castelo de Vide is now accommodation, but still has the charm of its azulejos and platform clock. Be aware that the owner wasn’t very pleased when I was only taking photos and didn’t want to stay there.

This was the best place we stayed on a trip with plenty of hotels, hostels and guesthouses. The owner was warm and friendly, and told us how the railway station was turned into a hostel. The place feels modern and cozy, with a peaceful, beautiful setting. Breakfast was amazing too. Really recommend it.

The pensão is spotless, comfortable and full of charm, and Ana is a lovely host. It’s a great place to stay while exploring the beautiful surroundings, including Castelo de Vide, Marvão, the reservoirs, menires and fontes. I kept wondering when a train might come through, maybe the ghost train!

A converted old train station with 5-6 rooms. The rooms are super fun and there’s plenty of space, and the hosting is great. The best option around, don’t hesitate.
