Dona Luisa is a superwoman, caring, amazing and a great cook. I loved our little chats. It was my first stay at the vila, and definitely won’t be my last. The vila is beautiful, with big, clean rooms, lovely views and a great place to relax. It’s dog friendly and well located, just a 5-10 minute walk from the village centre. Breakfast is mouthwatering, with homemade cakes and jams and so much to choose from. I recommend staying here 100%, and it’s really, really affordable too.

The garden view comes with amazing birds, and it’s a comfortable base for visiting Castelo de Vide. The host takes great care with the details, and there’s a good bed, pillows and shutters. Her breakfast is definitely for champions. If you want to train, the football field and clube off Castelo de Vide are right in front.

This was our second stay here, and it’s the best place for visiting the lovely little town of Castelo de Vide. Luisa is lovely and enjoys spoiling her guests. Breakfast is a treat, with homemade cake and jam, fresh fruit and freshly brewed coffee. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated, and the air conditioning even has a whisper mode.

This was one of the best places we stayed during our trip to portugal. The owner welcomes you like a princess, and the breakfast is the best ever, with 80% of the delicious food homemade by the owner. Ask her about the history of the place. The stay itself is a reason to come.

The hostess is lovely and interesting, and breakfast is fantastic, with plenty of homemade sweet treats. Vila Maria is the best lodging in Castelo de Vide, and I’d highly recommend it for a memorable stay in this hidden Portuguese gem.
