Windmill Hill

Keith was kind and quick to respond, and we’d love to visit again. The stay at Keith Windmill was beautiful and peaceful, with plenty of space, a lovely pool, and a calm setting between the ocean and countryside.

We loved the views, the sunsets, and dancing in the moonlight while looking out over the countryside. The Windmill has a lot of character, and our big bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is modern, and the apartment has a good kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. The pool is a good size too. Vila Nova De Milfontes and its great beaches are an easy drive away. Highly recommended!

Spring was lovely at windmill hill. We stayed in March and April, and even early in the season the weather was pleasant. The enclosed garden has lots of spots to sit in the sun or get out of the wind. It can get very windy around the mill, though. Maybe Keith and Fiona could tell the wind the Mill is inoperative 🙂. In the evenings, the gas heater and open fire made the large kitchen-dining-living room comfortable. We didn't use the pool because the water still felt too cold, so we did lots of hiking instead. The area is beautiful, with plenty of paths around the Windmill. We'd recommend it to anyone who loves hiking and nature and wants to stay in a Converted Windmill.

The annexe was just as warm and comfortable as the delightful old Windmill, where we slept. We were there with another couple and all had an amazing time. The sun was shining even in mid-February, so we walked the many nearby paths. Windmill Hill is well placed for the Rota Vincentina and for Cercal, which has a number of good restaurants and cafes. The beautiful Alentejo coast is only a 15-minute drive away.
