Farol de Vida is a lovely place in Coimbra, with caring, helpful owners. It was perfectly clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed, plus a little extra. The heating worked well and kept the room warm. I'd say it's the best place to stay in coimbra!

The rooms are small but cozy, and the value for the price felt average. Coffee, tea, and biscuits were included. There was nobody at reception during check-in, and although the booking sites said English was spoken, no one there spoke English.

A positive, friendly place close to the center. Comfortable and practical, with very nice people. Seems especially good for young people.

The climb up to the hostel is a big one, but the hosts are very friendly.
