The bar stays open until 1 a.m., and its terrace has pleasant views and a lovely atmosphere. At checkout we were even given a regueifa, a really nice touch. The location is exceptionally convenient, near the main tourist sights and on an avenue lined with shops, including supermarkets. Staff were attentive and the service was top-notch. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well organised. Breakfast was generous, with lots of variety, on the fifth floor overlooking the main landmarks. When we arrived there was a slight damp smell in the room. Leaving the window open for about two hours cleared it, though it was uncomfortable in the cold. It might help to air the rooms during the rainy season.

The staff were great, as they usually are in Portugal, and the location is very good. The hotel itself felt more like a basic 3-star place, but charged 5-star prices, and it lacked character. Breakfast was really poor, served in a room that felt like a motorway service station. Glad we only booked one night.

The rooms are spacious, and the rooftop of the hotel bar has amazing views over Coimbra. The staff are so nice and attentive. I love staying here whenever I’m in Coimbra.

The rooftop view was outstanding, and I really enjoyed my stay. Service at the front desk was excellent and attentive. Soundproofing in the room could have been a little better. I’d recommend this hotel for a stay of one or two nights.

There’s a pleasant roof terrace with views across the city and river. The hotel is simple and friendly, and well placed for the old town. I’d suggest taking a cab up to the University complex, then walking back down.
