The only drawbacks I noticed were reports of musty smells, a somewhat dated look in places, and breakfast variety that can be limited. Some furniture may feel old even though the rooms are clean. Still, Tivoli Coimbra has a lot going for it: the service and facilities are well regarded, and it works for meetings too, with five modern rooms, AV equipment, and catering options. The recent room renovation brings neutral, elegant decor, smart TVs, Nespresso machines, and extra room in the family rooms and executive suites. There’s air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, tea and coffee, flat-screen TVs, and roomy bathrooms. You can also rent a bicycle for free, and private parking costs around €10-13 a night. I liked how easy it was to get around. The University Library, Santa Cruz Church, and Old Cathedral are close by on foot, and Coimbra-B station is about a 7-minute walk away. Simone Coffee Shop serves coffee, pizza, burgers, pasta, risotto, and weekend brunch throughout the day. I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Tivoli Coimbra mixes classic character with modern comfort in one of Portugal’s oldest university cities. It has an 8.3/10 overall Booking.com score, with marks of 8.7 for cleanliness, comfort, and location, 8.3 for facilities, and 9.0 for staff. A good central option for leisure or work, especially if you value comfort and helpful service.

We had connecting rooms, which worked really well with young kids, and the staff were very helpful. There’s a car park with an electric charger right beside the hotel, which made things convenient. The location is close enough to the centre, and the rooms are really big. The decor feels a little tired, though, and the carpets need replacing soon. We thought it was very good value.

The staff were quite rude. We sat at the bar for 30 minutes without getting table service, while other tables were being served, so I wouldn’t recommend the place. The room itself was spacious and modern, with a comfortable bed and excellent blackout blinds. The shower-bath curtain was a bit messy, and breakfast was just okay, with very few gluten-free options.

Parking is private and costs 13€. The rooms are big and nice, and the location is great. Breakfast had a good selection, but the trays were nearly empty or empty. We asked three times, and they weren’t refilled until half an hour later, when we’d already finished.

The price and location were good, and the rooms were really large, though they felt old, especially the carpet. Breakfast was good, but they were strict about the hours. On our first night, we checked in and went to the bar almost 15 minutes before closing, but they still refused to serve us.
