The owner was warm and welcoming, and we really appreciated that. There’s also a roomy kitchen with everything needed, and being right by the beach gives the place real potential. Still, the value for money didn’t feel quite right. Our sleep was difficult because the rooms are noisy, especially on the street side with the window open. The beds were quite worn, some towels smelled like wet dog, and the toilets are extremely cramped. Since toilet paper has to go in the bin, those bins fill up fast when it’s busy, which isn’t pleasant.

We chose this place because it’s right by the beach, and it’s easy to reach other spots from here too. We like walking, so having good views along the way made getting around enjoyable. Sharing with strangers is what it is, but we had a pretty good time.

Fine for a single night, but it wasn’t a pleasant stay. The place could really use a deep clean and some renovation. The interior and furniture felt worn, the toaster was broken and only one stove worked. Wi-Fi was down about 80% of the time. On the terrace, the ventilation from the restaurant next door was loud and smelled awful, and the bathroom and toilet setup was pretty catastrophic. Cheap, but it feels cheap too.

The hosts were very welcoming, and the kitchen inside is well equipped. There’s a local market nearby with seafood, fruit, and vegetables. A handy place to stay if you want to see Sintra, Corales, and Cabo da Roca. I highly recommend it. CLEAN!!!

Meraki is a lovely hostel with a fantastic view of the ocean. The staff are really friendly, and the facilities are very good.
