Yellow House

The hosts were so caring and attentive, answering all our questions before we arrived and always being ready to help during the stay. Elena was really nice and helpful, showing us around when we arrived and receiving the house back at checkout. We rented the villa for a birthday weekend with a big group of friends, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The house is so big and nice, with a very well-equipped kitchen.

During our five-day retreat, The Yellow House felt like a safe haven for reflection and growth. We had invigorating meditations and nourishing yoga sessions, with everything thoughtfully arranged. The kitchen was well equipped for our healthy cooking, and owner Paulo kept an eye on things. The comfort was appreciated on cold days: there are two fireplaces, and Paulo and his wife arranged four extra heaters for us. Mornings came with a choice of three Nespresso machines and other coffee makers. From the first inquiry through our goodbye, Paulo and his team treated us with genuine warmth. Elaine’s heartfelt welcome set that tone from the start, and her care for the property showed in its charming details and good energy. The house is conveniently close to local shops and transport, so comfort and access go together. It’s a place for connection, whether you’re looking for quiet or adventure. There’s loads of space, and the house is lovely. Great for kids who can swim, with plenty to do, including a basketball hoop, table tennis, a play castle, and swings. It’s also within walking distance of town. The owners don’t speak English, which made communication difficult. They were very grumpy and didn’t give us a nice goodbye. I think we were great tenants.

The outdoor entertainment area is great for a large group, but the inside needs more work. The beds are narrow and short, there aren’t enough wine glasses, and you’ll need to bring your own toilet paper. Animals from the neighborhood, cats and dogs, wander into the garden looking for food.
