The location was terrible, and the property had broken air conditioning and blinds that didn’t work. I’ve travelled extensively and never had an experience like this. I arrived as a surprise to see my partner and children, who were staying there, after booking a hotel room in the village because I knew their accommodation would be cramped and thought we’d mostly be at the beach and in town. The front gates were wide open, so I walked to reception. While I tried to explain that my family was staying there, I was practically manhandled off the premises. I understand security, but they wouldn’t listen. After the gates had closed, I called reception and was told I’d have to pay €40 just to be on the property. It felt like this was about money, not security. Their rudeness and money grabbing toward my family were unfathomable. I showed them my hotel booking to make clear I had no intention of staying at the property, but there was still no understanding of what it means to be a host. My partner emailed and called repeatedly, and I made many calls too. The proprietors were as rude as you could imagine. Shocking, awful experience. There are tons of far better places in the village. Avoid this place at all costs.

The hosting company was hostile, and there were barely any windows. I had a second reservation because it came with a discount, then asked to shift it by two days. When they wouldn’t honor the change, I said that was fine and offered to pay for two extra days without staying. They cancelled it anyway, saying I’d “asked for two many changes.” Two people also came to my place asking me to cancel myself so they wouldn’t have to pay a cancellation fee. I refused, and they cancelled it. I have to go to many hospitals for surgeries and examinations, so getting cancelled on short notice, in a rude manner, was really bad. I don’t smoke, I’m quiet, and I don’t do drugs. It seemed to me they didn’t like the discounted rate and could make more money from other guests in summer. For three days, a construction worker smoked right outside my place, with smoke drifting in. They said it was fine because he was outside. After I posted this review, they accused me of lies and misinformation and made threats. The company seems really hostile. Please beware!

Rust everywhere: the microwave, hair dryer, even the clothes hangers. They really should invest in things lol. The bedsheet had a funky smell, and the blinds could be better. Still, it’s budget-friendly and doable for a short stay in Ericeira if you’re looking for somewhere cheap.

Worst stay ever. They spy on guests and make an issue of it if you invite a friend over for just 10 minutes. They ask you to pay 50 euros for that, which is absolutely crazy. Don’t go here.
