Tiago and Alessandra were wonderful, offering helpful guidance and support throughout our stay. We spent Christmas with the family at Casa Altamira, a beautifully kept historic house that felt safe and secure. Breakfast was fresh and had lots of variety. Its position above the Rio Douro is stunning, with a lovely historic church right next door.

Tiago and Alejandra made us feel completely at home. Their care, along with the peaceful garden and quiet surroundings, made this stay special. Case Altamira is a beautiful countryside hideaway, and the house has been restored to its former splendor. It was one of the most memorable and beautiful hotel stays I've had anywhere in the world.

The welcome here felt warm and family-like, and we were especially glad to hear they were happy to welcome us as LGBTQ+ guests. The service was outstanding, and the breakfast had far more than we expected, including Portuguese Sweet Croissants, Joghurt, fruit, and ham. The house is delightfully decorated and stands above the valley on terraces, with a fantastic view over the Duoro river from our room. We stayed for 2 nights. Tiago, the manager, said they had just expanded the property to become 5 stars and were now planning a large new pool area. I think it already deserves that. We'd recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Thanks for a great stay!

We found it peaceful and lovely, just right for anyone looking to relax. The staff were friendly and ready to help, and our room was amazing, with a breathtaking view from the window. Definitely worth visiting.

A quiet village setting, with deep views into the Douro valley. This family-run property is amazing, probably the best in the region.
