Dorma Praia Golfe

The beds were really comfortable, and we had a lovely sea view from our balcony. This is a very nice luxury hotel, with helpful, friendly staff, and everything was working and spotless. They even let us use their private secure car park for free. The free parking area outside didn't feel safe to us at all, so I'd recommend using the hotel's secure parking.

The location was great, but the hotel felt old and worn. Our balcony was so tiny it was barely worth having, and it was broken too, which made it unsafe to use. They gave us that room anyway, which was strange. Staff weren't very helpful. The sauna and steam bath were a joke, each only about 2 m2, so two people at most unless you want to be shoulder to shoulder with strangers in a hot space. Even with the hotel only half full, we could hardly use them. We'll book somewhere else next time.

We woke up to an ocean view every day, and the room was spacious with useful toiletries in the bathroom. The central location was great, and there was always water, fruit, and a sweet treat at reception. Staff we met were friendly and approachable. We were offered parking, perhaps because it was low season, and it was easy to find. A complimentary bottle of water and box of chocolates in the room were a nice welcome. As big coffee drinkers, we'd have liked a kettle or coffee machine there, since sometimes we wanted coffee before nearby cafes and restaurants opened. The spa area was relaxing, though the steam room and sauna didn't feel hot enough for us. We'd recommend the place and would love to return.

I chose this property partly because the rate clearly promised unlimited spa access, and I agreed to the price on that basis. But when I checked the details more carefully before arrival, I saw that the spa, pool, and sauna would be closed from March 2 until March 25, covering my entire stay. So the main service included in my rate won't be available.
