Hotel Apartamento Solverde

The reception staff were patient and really kind, and even let us get into the room a little early. The area is lovely and close to lots of amenities. Only downside was sand scattered all over the floor.

Espinho was a lovely base, with plenty of cafes and restaurants, plus bars and the casino. The beach was clean and great for surfing, walking, football, volleyball or just reading. There's a cycle path all the way to Porto, and the roads made it easy to explore by car. Porto is only 25 minutes away. We visited lots of places and had a great time. We were two adults and three children in a two-double-bed apartment, with a sofa bed in the living area. It was very clean, and towels and kitchen gear were provided. The kitchen had what we needed to cook, including a good-sized fridge with ice box, toaster, kettle and microwave. There was also a separate sink for handwashing clothes and a drying rack. Staff were really helpful, and our late Sunday arrival and check-in caused no problems. The only snag was the bedroom sockets: one in each room, in awkward spots, though an extension lead would sort that out. We'd happily stay again. Eskimo ice-cream shop/bar is nearby and worth a visit for coffee, ice cream, gofre (waffles), friendly service and live football.

The people working here really made the stay stand out. They were awesome, and the rooms were nice too. Great spot near the beach and casino.

The train station is just down the road, and it takes around 30 minutes to get into Porto. The hotel sits right on the seafront, about 15-20 miles south of Porto. Reception staff were excellent, and the place was clean and well cared for. I'd definitely recommend it.
