Casa da Madalena Backpackers Hostel

I stayed here with seven friends, even though it’s usually more of a solo traveler hostel, and we all had such a good time we joke about going back to Faro just for this place. The staff were so friendly, everything was very clean, and the rooftop was perfect. Pancakes in the morning were a great start to the day and an easy way to meet other travelers. The vibe was amazing. I’d highly recommend it.

The staff were the friendliest I’ve met, and the pancake breakfast was wonderful. They even checked with my group to see if we wanted to join them for sunset. This is the best hostel I’ve stayed at, and I’d absolutely come back.

It’s been three years since I spent a couple of nights here, and I still think about it 🫠 With just two dorms and around 30 people at most, it quickly feels like a big family. The rooftop is beautiful, and you end up seeing a lot of the other guests around the pancake breakfast table. I’d go to Faro again just to stay here :)

The owners, especially Bandi, are generous and helpful. They went above and beyond for me and my partner when we were getting started on the fisherman's trail hike. They mentioned they have big plans for 2026. Good luck with them, we’ll be back!
