Residencial York

The rooms have a private bathroom, a very small old-style TV, and a fan, which is much needed since it gets quite hot at night. If you're lucky, a lovely older lady will look after you. She'll remind you of your grandma, put money in your hand, and feed you until you're full, though she doesn't speak much English. My only complaint was that the mattresses were a bit too firm for me, and breakfast had fake orange juice instead of real juice.

Everything was very clean, though the furniture is dated. Breakfast had only a few items, but they were fresh and tasty. The staff were polite and warm, but no one spoke English or any language besides Portuguese. We tried Spanish and managed somehow. The area has a lot of traffic and gets noisy at night. The owner wasn't very helpful: they issued the invoice incorrectly and refused to fix it. Overall, it was acceptable for two nights, but I wouldn't return.

The rooms and bathroom are nice and basic, and the price is good for what's provided. The beds are comfortable, it's fairly quiet, and there's a lovely balcony. Staff speak little English. Each day when you leave the hotel, they take your keys, and you need to ring a bell to get back in. There's no kettle or tea or coffee, just a phone and a small TV. Good for the basics.

The location is good, though it was a little too expensive. The staff changed our sheets and towels every day, and the woman in the kitchen was wonderful with our little one. Thank you!
