Lago Azul Eco Hotel

A real little hideaway, and not expensive. The blue lake views are breathtaking, and the setting is peaceful while still offering plenty of ways to have fun alone or with family. I loved the decor and atmosphere. Our room was spacious, beautiful, clean, and comfortable, and the free breakfast had a generous selection. The staff were fantastic, warm, professional, and focused on guests. The pool area was well served, and dinner in the restaurant was lovely. I hadn’t had alheira this good in a very long time. One of the most welcoming places I’ve stayed, and I highly recommend it.

The best thing about my two-night stay was the location. The river scenery is beautiful, and there are plenty of water sports nearby. I came to explore the area and swim in the Zezere river and Castelo do Bode dam. It was good value for money. The staff were pleasant, and the à la carte bar and restaurant were nice. Breakfast was reasonable. Room cleaning took quite a while, possibly because COVID requirements made cleaning take longer. My room had a big bed, perhaps oversized for its size, and the standard amenities. The building looks a bit dated, despite what seems to be a recent revamp, and the decor wasn’t quite my taste. The pool and surrounding area were nice, but crowded while I was there, so I skipped it and went to the river beaches instead. It seemed all the rooms faced the lovely river view.

The hotel sits right beside the lake, surrounded by nature, with views and scenery that can leave you speechless. I had a wonderful experience at Lago Azul Eco Hotel. The staff were friendly, and I’d especially recommend trying the restaurant for lunch or dinner. The regional food was very tasty.

We came as a group of pilgrims and were treated like family. Even while we waited for our transport, the hotel staff let us stay there. The care we received was out of this world. It’s in the best location, and I’ll definitely come back.
