Casa das Castas Wine Guesthouse

The house is in Vermiosa, near the Spain-Portugal border, with a swimming pool that feels like a real luxury during the summer heat. Ana is a luxurious hostess. The rooms are brand new and clean, with Porcelanosa bathrooms that combine classic style with modern touches and plenty of detail. Ana prepares a real pleasure of a breakfast, with all kinds of products. Almeida is 11 km away, Castelo Rodrigo is 14 km away, and the Spanish border and Royal Fort of La Concepcion in Aldea del Obispo are 20 km away. Almeida and Castelo Rodrigo are both fortresses from the Spanish-Portuguese War.

The Moscatel room was spacious and very comfortable, and we enjoyed the pool in the warm weather. Casa das Castas blends tradition with modern comfort, making for a lovely stay. The restaurant was the cherry on top, with very well-prepared meals and attentive service that left us eager to return. I recommend it for the quality and the owners' warmth.

We had a peaceful stay, with fantastic gardens and a pool. The owners were incredibly friendly and attentive, and you can taste and buy wine from their own winery. The country house is tastefully decorated down to every detail, and our room was comfortable and clean. Breakfasts were excellent too. We'll be back, and thanks for everything.

What a lovely surprise. The setting felt genuine, from the landscape and surroundings to the warm welcome. The comfort was excellent, with thoughtful details and a strong sense of style inside and out. Breakfast in the beautiful dining room was so comforting, and a very helpful, friendly young woman looked after us throughout. From the moment we arrived until we left, the owner was wonderfully attentive. We hope to come back for a longer stay, in summer or winter, ideally with friends.
