Apartments Madeira Old Town

I've stayed here several times, and each visit has been perfect. The sea is just a minute away, with lots of restaurants close by. The apartments have everything you need, the team takes real care with cleaning, and they're friendly and quick to help. I'll book here for all my future trips to Madeira!

I've been coming here for years. The owners are very friendly, helpful, and efficient, and always meet you when you arrive, with no key boxes. Prices are affordable, and it's a great spot in Funchal old town, close to excellent bars and restaurants. The cable car and bus stations are nearby, and it's only a 5 min walk to the centre of city centre.

We were on the 3rd floor, in a clean, well-prepared, well equipped apartment. The owner was friendly and gave us information about the city and buses, and helped when we needed something. The location in the old town is excellent, near the sea and lots of restaurants. You can walk to the city center, and the free swimming place under the fortress is less than 5 min away on foot. It's quiet, though you can hear a few cars and motorbikes during the night because Funchal roads have steep climbs, luckily there isn't a busy road nearby. The price is very good, and I'd choose these apartments again if I return to Funchal with a group of 4 people. There are a couple of little things that could be improved: the place could be painted, and the couch blanket could be sewn up.

The road noise is terrible. We're on a major corner where cars speed down, and it carries on past 1am before starting up again at 7am. Even with the windows closed and shutters down, it's really noisy. Double glazing and Air Conditioning would help so you could keep the windows shut.
