Banana Lodge by Atlantic Holiday

We were two adults and two children, and spent eight nights here. The apartment was very spacious, with an open kitchen and living area plus two large bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The internet was excellent, and the full-size TV is around 55 inches, much bigger than it looks in the photos. We had a lovely ocean view, especially at sunrise. The hosts met us on time for check-in and asked us to leave by 10:00. We rented a car for the week and used the underground parking. The assigned space is quite tight, but having it was handy. From the bottom of the road, it’s about a 20-minute walk left to the marina area in central Funchal, or right to another popular place with shops, restaurants, and swimming pools. I don’t know its name. The only thing we missed was a shared pool for the children. Otherwise, we couldn’t fault the apartment and would definitely consider booking again.

There were five of us for four nights, and I really didn’t want to leave. The apartment felt modern and comfortable, and was so well equipped that we never came up short looking for anything. My husband and I had an ensuite bedroom that felt like an upscale hotel room. My brother slept on the sofa bed, and when I tried it while watching TV, it was comfier than a lot of Airbnb beds I’ve used. Atlantic Holiday were great to deal with. I left my sunglasses behind at checkout, messaged their WhatsApp number, and got a call back within minutes. They arranged for an employee to collect them and take them to the office so we could pick them up before our flight. I’d absolutely recommend both this lovely apartment and the professional company to anyone visiting Madeira. We had a fantastic stay.

It felt like a dream home: roomy, modern, and right in the center, with a magnificent view.

Really good internet for working remotely, a well-equipped place, and a great host. We loved it.
