Casa da Praça

We spent two weeks here in March in the Santa Clara one-bedroom unit, and it was just right. The bed was a very comfortable king, and the apartment was modern, clean, air-conditioned, and had a fully stocked kitchen. The manager communicated really well. Getting in felt very secure, with three doors using keypads. The location made it easy to walk to the old town, historic district, attractions, buses, and cable car. We’d happily stay again and have no hesitation recommending it.

Once you find the place, it’s well worth it. It’s right in the middle of Funchal, with everything within walking distance. A really nice spot, highly recommend.

The location was nice and communication was good, but I really didn’t like the room’s view. It faced the backyard and parking area, which was a letdown. Also, the nearby restaurant was just as awful as the reviews said.

We loved opening the terrace doors in the morning to let in the sun and fresh air, with a view over the square. The unit was clean and well equipped, and Isabel kept us updated all week while we were on vacation in Madeira. She responded quickly whenever we asked for a change. The square location was perfect, close to restaurants, shops, and the old town. I’d definitely stay here again next time we’re in Funchal. Thanks, Isabel!
