Funchal Gardens Place

Zeca and paula made us feel very welcome. They were polite, attentive, and happy to help with anything. The apartment was spotless throughout and clearly well cared for, with all the facilities we could want. I’d happily recommend it and stay here again on another trip to madeira. Five stars all around.

We felt so welcome by the lovely hosts, and the apartment had everything we needed. It was already clean and nicely decorated when we arrived. We’d definitely book it again when we come back to Madeira :)

We felt like we were staying with a friend. Senhor José was warm, spoke good English, and was always ready to help. The apartment is outside the center, but there’s a bus stop right in front and Funchal has a good bus system. The neighborhood is also nice for walks and a look at everyday Madeira life. The large balcony opens onto a pleasant garden from both the bedroom and living room, and was a lovely spot for breakfast or lunch. There’s a private parking space inside the building. The apartment is on the second floor, in a quiet location. The kitchen has the utensils and basics you need, including cooking oil, salt, sugar, tea, instant coffee, a microwave, toaster, gas stove, and electric oven. Milk, ham, and bread for toast were waiting in the fridge, and there was fruit and Madeira vine as a welcome gift. The laundry room was well equipped and had several detergents. The bedroom has a king size bed with a good mattress and a fantastic duvet, plus extra blankets and pillows in the wardrobe. The cozy living room has a big TV and WiFi. We’d certainly recommend it for couples and families.

Loved this place. It’s so peaceful, definitely go if you’re ever in Funchal.
