Funchal's central setting and the views are a real plus, and the studio kitchen is very well equipped. The upkeep needs serious attention. The old mattresses made the beds uncomfortable, while the shower had weak pressure and the drains were clogged. Water use also caused strange noises in the plumbing. Noise was another big issue. There was no sound insulation, so street cleaning at 6:00 AM and loud people passing at night could be heard. Better windows are needed here.

We spent 10 days on the island, and Luis was a wonderful host. He got in touch before we arrived with check-in details and suggestions for places to visit and eat, plus transfer information. He was helpful, knowledgeable, and quick to answer questions. The studio was spacious, comfortable, air conditioned, and had everything we needed. It was also spotless and thoughtfully arranged, right on a small square with lots of cafes and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay in Funchal. Obrigado, Luis!

The location is right in central Funchal, close to two large supermarkets and the market, and it worked well for a week. Check-in and checkout were simple with the code. The kitchen had everything we needed, though the bar below the window made things a little noisy.
